Hi, Iā€™m Alison paniccia.

I have over ten years of experience in mental health including residential programming and outpatient care. I can help you or your child:

  • Restore positive connection between mind, body, and food

  • Recover from trauma

  • Reduce anxiety and/or depression

  • Manage prenatal and postpartum difficulties

  • Utilize music for therapeutic goals

I am a licensed professional counselor.

I provide Telehealth outpatient therapy services from the state of PA. This is my virtual private practice.

Let me help you or your loved one restore a positive relationship with mind, body, and food. I have many years of experience working with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, other specified feeding or eating disorders, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), and general disordered eating and body image concerns. I provide family based treatment for children and adolescents and cognitive behavioral therapy for older adolescents and adults. I believe in health at every size. I can make recommendations regarding higher level of care as needed and also accept those stepping down from higher levels of care to maintain overall progress.

Together, we can tackle goals such as eliminating food restriction, excessive and compulsive exercise, and binge eating. We can introduce non food related coping skills, expand food variety, reintegrate regular meals, and establish body acceptance and positive overall self esteem. Eating disorder recovery can be a difficult journey, but recovery is possible!

In addition to my eating disorder expertise, I can provide cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for trauma recovery. CPT is a highly effective treatment to reduce symptoms of PTSD including nightmares, sleep disturbance, self harm, anger outbursts, hyper vigilance, or substance abuse, among others.

Lastly, as a music therapist, I am skilled at bringing music into my therapeutic techniques when applicable. Music can be used in many ways in therapy including but not limited to rapport building, coping skills training, and as an alternative form of expression.

As a mother of two young children, I have very recently gone through pregnancy and postpartum and enjoy helping others manage their thoughts, feelings, and concerns around this important life stage, particularly when eating disorder symptoms are getting in the way of conception, healthy pregnancy, and/or acceptance of postpartum life.

Whether you are struggling with chronic dieting, food aversion, body image dissatisfaction, previous trauma, or any of the above, I can help you through it. Let my unique training and experience help you in your goals.
